Problems Caused by Mesothelioma Lung Cancer
Mesothelioma lung cancer is a form of cancer that targets the
pleura (lungs) of a person working on asbestos-exposed company or place.
Usually this kind of disease is always been associated
with too much asbestos exposure. It is considered as one of the leading
cause of death in asbestos-related illnesses.
Once a person inhaled the particles of asbestos, tissues
on the lungs are starting to form small scars. This process is called
asbestosis.
The scars formed in the tissue causes the person to breath
hard and if not diagnosed early, would lead to the blocking of the airways
and air passages on the lungs and will make the person to breathe more
slowly.
The situation will get more serious if the person would
ignore the symptoms. The scars formed in the tissue of the lungs will
become tumor and finally will lead to a very serious disease called mesothelioma
lung cancer.
It will then spread throughout the lungs and to the abdominal
cavity for a number of months.
Fluid then will start to appear because the body's antibodies
or the immunizing agent against bacteria failed to heal the tumors.
Mesothelioma Lung Cancer Symptoms
The symptoms of this illness are mainly the same with
other symptoms associated with lung diseases such as tuberculosis. Other
symptoms such as coughing, fever, hard breathing, and pale body may occur.
Diagnosing Process
As said above, Mesothelioma lung tumor symptoms are the
same with other lung cancer diseases that's why physicians find it difficult
to diagnose the disease.
Physicians may perform several examinations and tests
such as X-rays, CT scans and the like to check if the cells of the lungs
have cancer. Possible complication
If the condition is left unchecked by doctors, the cancer
will possibly get worsen. One of the leading complications is the pulmonary
embolus, wherein the clotting in the blood may form on the blood streams
of the lungs and heart causing cardiac arrest and death.
Other complications can occur such as the build up of
tumors that will destroy the entire lungs and abdominal cavity and will
lead to internal hemorrhage.
Also if the fluid itself fills the lungs the person will
get difficulty in breathing subjecting himself to death.
Things to Avoid Mesothelioma Cancer
"If you already have mesothelioma cancer, seeking a doctor
is obviously the very best thing to do." If you are working on a company
that is exposed to asbestos and you suspect you have the symptoms, it
is better for you to consult a doctor as early as possible.
The doctor will diagnosed the disease and will perform
several test, operations and therapies. When working on a company using
asbestos, the best thing to do is to wear a protective mask.
Both the workers and the people around the place must
do the same thing to avoid the inhalation of the asbestos fibers.
Mesothelioma lung tumor is one of the most fatal cancers
ever discovered in history. The survival rate statistics is difficult
to find as this cancer is not so common.
Taking proper precaution and awareness may help us prevent
experiencing the effect of lung cancer. This is better than to wait for
the attack of the cancer and perform late check ups.
